FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, UNEARTH, BIOHAZARD To Appear On DIMEBAG Tribute CD

November 20, 2009

BLABBERMOUTH.NET has received confirmation that FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, UNEARTH, BIOHAZARD and KIUAS will all appear on the forthcoming "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) tribute album which is being put together by U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine for a special issue that will coincide with the five-year anniversary of Dimebag's passing. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH recorded a cover version of the PANTERA classic "A New Level" while UNEARTH laid down their rendition of "Sandblasted Skin" for the collection, which is expected to include the following artists/cuts, among others:

* FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH - "A New Level"
* UNEARTH - "Sandblasted Skin"
* BIOHAZARD - [to be announced]
* KIUAS - [to be announced]
* MACHINE HEAD - "Fucking Hostile"
* CHIMAIRA - "Slaughtered"
* EVILE - "Cemetery Gates"
* THROWDOWN - [to be announced]
* ZAKK WYLDE - "Suicide Note Pt. 1"
* THIS IS HELL - [to be announced]

Other artists that are rumored to have contributed songs to the CD include MALEFICE and SYLOSIS.

The song by EVILE turned out to be bassist Mike Alexander's very last and was recorded just before he himself died of a pulmonary embolism, a blockage of an artery in the lung, on October 5, 2009 while on tour with the band in Sweden.

"Dimebag" Darrell Abbott was co-founder and lead guitarist for PANTERA. When PANTERA broke up in 2003, Dimebag and his brother Vinnie Paul formed DAMAGEPLAN. On Dec. 8, 2004, while performing with DAMAGEPLAN at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, Dimebag was shot and killed onstage by Nathan Gale. He was 38 years old.

Video footage of Evan Seinfeld (BIOHAZARD) performing the PANTERA classic "Walk" with Vinnie Paul (PANTERA) and SIN CITY SINNERS in Las Vegas in early July 2009 can be viewed below.
